Job Summary

The Senior Finance Officer is a key member of the Tlicho Investment Corporation team, responsible for providing financial, administrative, and data processing services to ensure the effective and efficient management of the company's finances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations
    • Manage and process financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
    • Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial data entry and reconciliation.
  • Accounting and Bookkeeping
    • Perform full-cycle accounting, including month-end reporting procedures.
    • Process payroll, including follow-up and year-end requirements.
    • Manage and maintain financial records, including electronic filing systems.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting
    • Prepare and present financial reports to management, including variance analysis.
    • Assist with audits and other ad-hoc reporting tasks.
    • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work effectively as a team member with minimal supervision.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
    • Provide training and support to junior staff members.
Requirements
  • Intermediate level CPA student (PEP level) or above.
  • Minimum of 3 years related financial/accounting experience (full cycle accounting) and 1-year payroll experience.
  • Experience in construction/project management accounting and real estate/property management accounting considered strong assets.
  • Strong administrative, time management, and organizational skills.
  • MS office proficiency, including computerized accounting.
  • Experience working with QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently.
  • Ability to maintain high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to continuously meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural, diverse environment demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Ability to speak the Tlicho language an asset.
