Job Summary

Slegg Building Materials is seeking a skilled Boom Truck Operator to transport roofing and building envelope materials to construction sites. This is a full-time position with a competitive hourly wage range of $27-$34.25, based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and operate a truck to transport materials to construction sites
  • Complete pre-trip truck inspections and notify maintenance when necessary
  • Transport loads in a professional manner, following road rules and representing the company with high standards
  • Verify load security and accuracy
  • Ensure cleanliness of the truck interior and exterior
  • Deliver materials to customer satisfaction, prioritizing safety, service, and efficiency
  • Operate the boom/mobile crane safely while loading and unloading
  • Communicate with customers and other trades on construction sites

Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license with air brakes endorsement
  • Level A Crane Ticket is an asset, but training will be provided
  • Minimum two years of experience is an asset
  • Must be comfortable working at heights in a harness
  • A clean driver's abstract
  • Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Physical requirements include:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs
  • Sitting and driving for long periods of time
  • Frequently climbing up and down stairs
  • Pulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer materials between truck and job site
