Production Scheduler Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Production Scheduler to join our team at Randstad Canada. As a Production Scheduler, you will play a key role in planning and coordinating production schedules to meet customer demand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain production plans and master schedules using ERP systems.
  • Plan and prepare production schedules in collaboration with sales, accounting, purchasing, and manufacturing departments.
  • Ensure production priorities are current, complete, and accurate while maintaining a cross-functional production control team.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure labor, material, and operational inputs support the aligned schedule.
  • Generate plant forecasting, load, and capacity reports.
  • Create Master Production Schedules, Manufacturing Orders, and forecast inventory requirements.
  • Optimize inventory levels and support the implementation of an inventory management ERP system.
  • Review sales forecasts, customer demands, and schedule production batches based on inventory levels and production lead time.
  • Ensure accurate inventory levels and product data for finished products.
  • Advise management on work in progress, potential production problems, and resource allocation.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent industry experience.
  • Post-secondary education with a focus on manufacturing planning and scheduling.
  • 3-5 years of previous work-related experience in a job-related field.
  • Direct experience in scheduling within a metal manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
