Production Scheduler Job Description

Our client in the KWC-G region has partnered with Randstad Canada to find a skilled Production Scheduler to join their team. As a Production Scheduler, you will play a key role in planning and coordinating production schedules to meet customer demand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain production plans and master schedules to meet customer demand using ERP systems.
  • Plan and prepare production schedules (daily, weekly, monthly) in collaboration with sales, accounting, purchasing, and manufacturing departments.
  • Ensure production priorities are current, complete, and accurate while maintaining a cross-functional production control team.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure labor, material, and operational inputs support the aligned schedule.
  • Generate plant forecasting, load, and capacity reports (short-term and long-term).
  • Create Master Production Schedules, Manufacturing Orders, and forecast inventory requirements.
  • Optimize inventory levels and support the implementation of an inventory management ERP system.
  • Review sales forecasts, customer demands, and schedule production batches based on inventory levels and production lead time.
  • Ensure accurate inventory levels (raw materials, WIP, finished goods) and product data for finished products.
  • Advise management on work in progress, potential production problems, and resource allocation.
  • Create and organize daily production schedules and ensure accurate recording of output levels in the correct system.
  • Collaborate with employees to resolve scheduling-related issues.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent industry experience.
  • Post-secondary education with a focus on manufacturing planning and scheduling.
  • 3-5 years of previous work-related experience in a job-related field.
  • Direct experience in scheduling within a metal manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
