Our Pre-construction Services - Utilities (GO Expansion) team within the Capital Projects Group is seeking a Project Manager to oversee high-value and complex utility projects for capital infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will manage projects in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner, ensuring quality services for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist advice on utility design and relocation, including hydro, telecommunications, gas/oil, water, storm, and sewage.
  • Contribute to the development of procedures and program implementation standards that support business unit operations.
  • Support project delivery teams and stakeholders, providing utility subject matter expertise on various Metrolinx capital infrastructure projects.
  • Directly interact with utility owners and municipalities to ensure timely deliverables and resolve escalations.
  • Perform complete project management on selected complex, high-risk utility relocation projects.
  • Define the need for concept, preliminary, and detail design alternatives, as well as new or improved procedures, design standards, specifications, or contract documents related to utility works.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to ensure utility deliverables are completed safely and on time.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a degree in Engineering (Civil preferred), applied science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience with managing utility relocations, preferably associated with heavy and light rail infrastructure operations/construction, and/or transportation planning principles and practices.
  • Relevant experience in utility design, construction management, tendering/procurement, stakeholder management, identifying/monitoring project risks, and field engineering.
  • Project management experience to manage assigned projects of high value and complexity in all stages of project management from start to close-out.
