We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Assistant to join our Pediatric Critical Care team at IWK Health. As a Clinical Assistant, you will work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team to provide critical care to patients admitted with critical illness. This role requires strong clinical competence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Participate in PICU continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Support PICU education and research activities
- Collaborate with other areas of Children's Health to provide comprehensive care
- RCPSC Residency training (or equivalent) in General Pediatrics
- Successful completion of licensing exam for pediatrics
- Ability to obtain a Clinical Assistant License through CPSNS
- Current PALS certification
- Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support Level (BLS) Program within the last 12 months
