Pediatric Critical Care Clinical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Assistant to join our Pediatric Critical Care team at IWK Health. As a Clinical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing critical care to patients admitted with critical illness to our hospital. You will work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest level of care and support for our patients and their families.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Clinical Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct patient care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Participating in PICU continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Supporting PICU education and research activities
- Working collaboratively with other areas of Children's Health to provide comprehensive care to our patients
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- RCPSC Residency training (or equivalent) in General Pediatrics
- Successful completion of licensing exam for pediatrics
- Ability to obtain a Clinical Assistant License through CPSNS
- Demonstrated clinical competence and experience in the assessment of clinically deteriorating children
- Current PALS certification
- Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support Level (BLS) Program within the last 12 months, or successful completion of a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate, required
