BWXT Canada Ltd. is a leading provider of nuclear power generation equipment and services. We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Cambridge, Ontario.

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for establishing and refining manufacturing procedures, preparing and maintaining shop documentation, and assessing and resolving non-conforming conditions. This role will also support the shop through facilities and equipment maintenance, upgrade or installation, and designing tooling as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare shop routings for each component, identifying resources and fixtures/jigs/tooling required.
  • Resolve non-conforming conditions, assessing each case relative to control drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Develop and support shop procedures for various activities, including Fitting, Welding, Machining, Assembly, and Testing.
  • Maintain realistic time standards and provide realistic durations for shop schedules.
  • Maintain a database of machine shop tooling, consumables, and gauges.
  • Conduct pre-manufacturing product reviews, identify tooling and fixtures needed, and make adjustments to design or concept sketches as required.
  • Design and draft tooling as required to support shop activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an appropriate discipline.
  • P.Eng. - Mechanical or appropriate Engineering field considered an asset.
  • 3 to 10 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with proven clear and succinct written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of Statistical Process Control tools and principles.
  • Comfortable with common Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in the Nuclear industry.
  • Experience with AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks 3D design software (or similar).

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position in Ontario is expected to be between $71,000 and $104,000 per year. The total compensation package may also include an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
