Counsellor - Indigenous Communities

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team at St.Amant, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and acquired brain injury. As a Counsellor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our business and operations, particularly in our Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and family/group counselling services to clients in accordance with St.Amant's Mission and Values, policies, and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with clients, caregivers, and families to develop and implement personalized service plans.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, including the development and implementation of service and program goals, objectives, and standards.
- Utilize service evaluation feedback to strengthen services and improve outcomes for clients.
- Masters degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
- Previous counselling experience, including individual work with children and adults.
- Extensive knowledge and application of individual and family/group dynamics.
- Knowledge of community resources and how to access them.
- Ability to identify high-risk situations and respond appropriately.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, caregivers, and families, and to supervise and teach others.
- Experience working within Indigenous communities/cultures.
- Knowledge of an Indigenous culture and language.
- Ability to travel, including to remote communities in Manitoba, where travel by small plane and/or boat may be required.
