We are Ataccama, a leading AI-powered cloud data management company, and we're seeking a seasoned General Counsel to oversees all legal aspects of our operations. As a key member of our executive team, you will provide strategic legal counsel on corporate planning, development, and business growth, ensuring alignment with our mission to empower organizations to maximize the transformative potential of data and AI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Legal Counsel: Provide proactive and strategic legal advice on corporate governance, commercial transactions, intellectual property, data privacy, employment law, and litigation.
  • Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of all contracts, including complex commercial contracts and software licensing agreements.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, focusing on privacy, data use and access, marketing requirements, and IP and trademark law.
  • Data Privacy: Advise and assist with the growth and maturation of our compliance efforts, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection regulations.
  • Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution processes, including selecting and overseeing outside counsel.
  • Intellectual Property: Protect our intellectual property and manage IP-related legal issues.
  • Employee Relations: Provide legal guidance on employment-related matters, including employment offers, terminations, contracts, policies, and disputes.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Lead legal due diligence and provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
  • Corporate Governance: Advise the Board of Directors on corporate governance matters, including board meetings and shareholder communications.
  • Team Leadership: Build and manage a high-performing legal team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • External Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including outside counsel, regulatory agencies, and industry associations.

Requirements:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) or LLB from an accredited law school.
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong background in the SaaS industry.
  • Bar Admission: Active membership in good standing in at least one state bar in the U.S.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to build and motivate a team.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical solutions.
  • Business Acumen: A strong understanding of business operations and the ability to align legal strategies with business objectives.
