Job Description

Octasic Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Item Master/Component Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Operations and Engineering teams, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of our product data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Master File Maintenance: Maintain the master file, establish product configurations, and ensure data integrity and accuracy in our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Product Configuration: Create new items for products, including spare parts, consumables, materials, equipment, and services in the ERP system.
  • BOM Management: Establish and update product information, including Bill of Materials (BOM), in the ERP system, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaboration: Work with Engineering and Production teams to define and maintain accurate BOMs within the ERP system.
  • System Enhancements: Collaborate with IT teams and ERP system administrators to identify, test, and implement system enhancements, automation, and process improvements related to item configuration.
  • Data Migration: Assist in migrating or transferring data to new systems as needed.
  • Component Management: Manage obsolescence or unavailability of electronic components on all electronic products, in collaboration with the Hardware Engineering department.
  • Parts List Reviews: Participate in Parts list reviews.
  • ECO Process: Participate in the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.
  • PCN Management: Follow up on Product Change Notice (PCN), Alerts, Counterfeited components, and DMSMS received from distribution and Silicon Expert.
  • Obsolescence Reports: Support the PLM team in the preparation of obsolescence reports for management and customers.
  • AVL Management: Collaborate with the Supply Chain and Engineering team to define and maintain the Approved Vendor List (AVL).
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Information Systems or Operations.
  • Experience: Experience in Component Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical) is an asset.
  • ERP Experience: Good experience with an ERP system.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Excel (intermediate to expert level), product nomenclatures, and component control document drawing types (Spec control, Source control, Altered Item, Selected item) is an asset.
  • Language: Bilingual (French & English): both spoken and written, to ensure good collaboration with our suppliers and international teams.
