About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Item Master/Component Technician to join our team at Octasic. As a key member of our Operations and Engineering teams, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our product configurations and inventory management processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update our master file to ensure data accuracy and consistency
  • Create new items for products, including spare parts, consumables, and equipment, in our ERP system
  • Establish and maintain product configurations and bill of materials (BOMs) in our ERP system
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to define and maintain accurate BOMs
  • Work with IT teams to identify and implement system enhancements and process improvements
  • Assist in migrating data to new systems as needed
  • Manage obsolescence and unavailability of electronic components
  • Participate in parts list reviews and Engineering Change Order (ECO) process
  • Support PLM team in preparing obsolescence reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as information systems or operations
  • Experience in component engineering (electrical, electronic, electromechanical) is an asset
  • Good experience with ERP systems
  • Intermediate to expert level knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of product nomenclatures and component control document drawing types
  • Autonomy and adaptability
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Bilingual (French and English) for effective collaboration with suppliers and international teams
