Remediation Verification Field Technician Job Description

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Remediation Verification Field Technician to support our team at the Port Hope Area Initiative. As a key member of our technical field staff, you will be responsible for conducting field work, including sampling and characterization of soils, and providing technical expertise to support the implementation of remediation projects.

A Day in the Life:

As a Remediation Verification Field Technician, your daily tasks will include:

  • Reviewing past information to assess gaps and develop a sampling plan
  • Monitoring excavations and characterizing soils
  • Scanning and sampling completed excavations
  • Collecting radon samples and conducting designated substance assessments
  • Reporting on findings and providing technical expertise to support project implementation

You will also be responsible for managing relationships with internal and external teams and clients, providing guidance and expertise to ensure their needs are met.

What You'll Bring to WSP:

We are looking for candidates with a College or University education or experience in soil or groundwater assessment or remediation. A background in radiation protection, biology, GIS, or other disciplines may also be applicable. Preferably, you will have a year or two of experience conducting field work, preferably in soil or groundwater sampling or radiation protection.
