About the Opportunity

Parker Huggett is a privately-owned general contractor known for delivering highly successful projects and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

The company is currently seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to join their team for one of North America's largest transit projects. As the team comes together for this major project, they are looking for an individual who shares their values and the goal of delivering exceptional infrastructure to drive communities forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the construction team to ensure that environmental issues are addressed promptly and environmental requirements are met.
  2. Prepare monitoring and inspection reports, which will be uploaded to a designated storage location.
  3. Analyze environmental deficiencies and provide recommended actions to ensure compliance and prevent potential environmental impacts.
  4. Provide advice and recommendations to improve environmental protection and correct inefficient practices or non-compliance issues.
  5. Investigate environmental incidents and public complaints related to environmental matters, reporting findings and recommendations effectively.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  1. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in environmental monitoring and mitigation during transportation project construction, specifically with respect to work in and around watercourses and erosion control measures.
  2. Certification as a Canadian Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CAN-CISEC) or proven proficiency in observing, inspecting, and reporting on the implementation of Erosion and Sediment Control Plans.
  3. Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with specialty consultants, contractors, and governmental authorities.

About the Job

This is a full-time, permanent position based in the GTA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental compliance and excellent communication skills. The position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

**Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
