Job Title: Greenhouse Labourer

We are seeking a reliable and physically demanding Greenhouse Labourer to join our team at P. Ravensbergen & Sons Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the production of bedding plants and seasonal plants in our greenhouse. This is a temporary position with a variable schedule, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mix and prepare soils for plant growth
  • Pot and re-pot plants as needed
  • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings into larger containers
  • Apply fertilizers to promote healthy plant growth
  • Monitor plants for signs of insect or disease damage and report any issues to management
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens as required
  • Clean the work area to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient plant care
  • Reliability and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
Working Conditions:
  • Work will be performed in a greenhouse environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels
  • May be required to work in confined spaces and outdoors
  • Must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and handle heavy loads
Language:

English is the primary language of communication in this role.

Work Schedule:

Variable schedule, 40 to 45 hours per week.
