Job Title: Greenhouse Labourer

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our team as a Greenhouse Labourer at P. Ravensbergen & Sons Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of our greenhouse, including mixing and preparing soils, potting and re-potting plants, transplanting seedlings or rooted cuttings, applying fertilizers, and reporting signs of insect or disease damage.

Responsibilities:
  • Mix and prepare soils for planting
  • Pot and re-pot plants as needed
  • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings into larger containers
  • Apply fertilizers to plants as directed
  • Report any signs of insect or disease damage to management
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens as needed
  • Clean work area to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Requirements:
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience: Experience an asset
  • Physical ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliability and team player
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a greenhouse environment, which may include exposure to wet/damp, hot, and cold conditions. The work site is a rural area, and public transportation is not available.Language:

English is the primary language of communication in the workplace.Hours of Work:

40 to 45 hours per week, with occasional overtime as required.
