About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Detection Specialist to join our team at Arctic Wolf. As a key member of our Cloud Detection Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and scale of our detection base, presenting actionable detections to our Security Services teams and customers.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing mentorship and technical leadership to the team, developing and maintaining Python and YAML-based detections, software, and systems, researching and developing expertise in various threat surfaces and telemetry available for them, proposing coverage and efficacy improvements to the detection surface, working with team members to develop novel detections, and continuously tuning existing ones.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a Detection Developer with a proven track record of successful contribution to detection development projects.
  • Experience in projects contributing in either Python or YAML, including SaaS, IaaS, and Identity Specific Telemetry (AWS Cloudtrail, Azure Activity Logs, IDP's, API Activity Logs, Mail), Cloud and Identity Forensic Investigation Experience, Development of anomaly and behavioral based detections, Tuning and optimization of detections for all the above.
  • Professional certifications in Security and/or Cloud are required (i.e. CISSP, CCSP, GIAC Cloud Threat Detection (GCTD), GIAC Public Cloud Security (GPCS), GIAC Cloud Forensics Responder (GCFR), AWS Security Specialty, Microsoft Azure Security Certifications).
  • Experience leading a team of 3 or more Detection Developers while contributing code independently, experience leading Agile development teams, preferably with formal Agile training.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
