Digital Strategy and Leadership
  1. Develop a Comprehensive Digital Strategy: Align with our mission and goals to drive innovation and growth.
  2. Lead the Digital Operations Team: Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  3. Collaborate with Senior Management: Identify and prioritize digital initiatives and projects to drive strategic outcomes.
Team Management and Development
  1. Lead and Mentor IT Professionals: Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  2. Provide Guidance and Training: Ensure high standards of service delivery and performance evaluations.
Digital Innovation and Transformation
  1. Evaluate Emerging Technologies: Identify opportunities for digital transformation and propose innovative solutions.
  2. Drive Digital Adoption: Enhance the student experience, streamline administrative processes, and support teaching and research.
  3. Collaborate with Academic Departments: Develop and implement e-learning and digital content strategies.
Digital Infrastructure Management
  1. Oversee Digital Infrastructure: Maintain and enhance networks, servers, and cloud services.
  2. Ensure Reliability and Security: Scalable digital systems and platforms.
  3. Implement Best Practices: Data management, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery.
Cybersecurity Oversight
  1. Implement Robust Cybersecurity Measures: Protect data, networks, and information systems from potential threats and breaches.
Technology Integration and Support
  1. Integrate New Technologies: Enhance academic and administrative functions.
  2. Provide Technical Support: Faculty, staff, and students to optimize digital tool usage.
  3. Monitor and Analyze Performance: Address issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
  4. Evaluate Emerging Technologies: Recommend software solutions that align with educational needs and improve operational efficiency.
Budget Management
  1. Develop and Manage IT Budget: Ensure cost-effective procurement of hardware, software, and IT services while maintaining quality and reliability.
Compliance and Policy
  1. Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, PIPEDA), and develop IT policies and procedures to uphold security and privacy standards.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
  1. Negotiate Contracts: Engage with technology vendors to ensure service level agreements are met.
  2. Engage with Internal and External Stakeholders: Gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns related to digital operations.
  3. Represent the Institution: Stay informed about best practices and regulatory requirements.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
  1. Develop Disaster Recovery Plans: Minimize disruption and ensure timely recovery of critical systems and services.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $120,000 per year, based on industry standards and the level of expertise required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field;
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in IT management;
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing high-performing IT teams;
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity practices, and emerging technologies;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align IT initiatives with organizational goals and priorities;
