About the Role

The Abbotsford School District is seeking a skilled Elementary Counsellor to join our team. As an itinerant counsellor, you will provide emotional, social, and behavioral support to identified students across multiple elementary schools in the district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing support to students, families, and school staff
  • Participate in School-Based Teams and integrated care teams
  • Liaise with district and community agencies
  • Support parents and families through direct support or referrals to community agencies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's Degree in Counselling with a counselling practicum relevant to the school environment
  • Experience as a school counsellor at the Elementary Level
  • Training in violence, threat, risk assessment (VTRA)
  • Non-violent crisis intervention certification
  • Eligibility for B.C. Certification
