Automotive Service Technician

Detailed and skilled automotive service technicians are sought after to join our team at Performance Auto Group. As an essential member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to our customers, ensuring their vehicles are in top condition and running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
- Prepare a complete report on the back of the repair order.
- Estimate flat rate times for each recommendation, using supplied flat-rate manuals and employer policies as a guide.
- Obtain parts prices and note availability for each recommendation.
- Perform all work as outlined on the front of the repair order and as authorized on the back, with efficiency and accuracy.
- Order all parts when authorization is received, unless specifically told otherwise.
- Saving and tagging parts if the job is under warranty or insurance, or if requested by the customer.
- Road-testing vehicles after service when a wheel is removed, or any time a repair that might affect drivability is performed.
- Ensuring that all work performed is thorough, accurate, and completed in a timely fashion.
- Supervising work of all apprentice technicians or students; reporting immediately any deficiencies to the Service Manager.
- Attending factory-sponsored training classes as scheduled by management.
- Attending dealer-specified training courses as scheduled by management.
- Keeping abreast of all factory technical bulletins.
- Learning and understanding all current and emerging technologies as they apply to automobile service.
- Maintaining a high degree of concentration to prevent 'comebacks.'
- Ensuring that customer cars are kept as clean or cleaner than when they arrived, both inside and out.
- Keeping the shop area neat and clean at all times.
- Cleaning bay and bench at the end of each shift.
- Disposing of garbage, recycling, etc. as required.
Requirements
- Automotive Service Technician, fully licensed (310S or higher).
- 3-5 years experience with automotive mechanical operations.
- A valid Ontario Driver's License and good driving record.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and succeed.
- Team-oriented, hardworking, with a positive attitude.
- Grade 12 diploma or GED.
- Ability to work effectively without supervision.
- Proven knowledge and experience with automotive mechanical operations.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and able to work productively.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Personable, reliable, courteous.
