We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Regional Program Specialist to join our team at the Canadian Race Relations Foundation. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining regional relationships, conducting targeted outreach, and monitoring CRRF-funded grants and sponsorships.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community groups, organizations, and government agencies. You will also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
About the RoleThis is a regular full-time salaried position, working 35 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to travel and attend weekend, early morning, and evening meetings as needed. Our hybrid working setting provides flexibility and work-life balance, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in person and virtually.
The salary for this position is $73,146-77,267 per annum, plus comprehensive benefits package, including three weeks of vacation, two Personal Floating Days, sick days, and 4% of annual income towards the RRSP plan, and life, disability, medical, and dental care insurance.
Key Responsibilities- Outreach:
- Design and implement outreach strategies to engage with community groups focused on anti-racism and anti-hate.
- Promote CRRF funding opportunities across the region and liaise with eligible organizations to support participation in CRRF granting and sponsorship opportunities.
- Participate in and facilitate the participation of other CRRF staff and regional board members to ensure adequate representation and speaking opportunities at regional events funded or sponsored by the CRRF.
- Support and monitor CRRF grants and sponsorships to ensure compliance with grant agreements and timely submission of reports.
- Liaise with grantees to respond to inquiries, provide information, and ensure accurate submission of reports.
- Ensure successful delivery of anti-hate and anti-racism programming through event organization, program promotion, and collaboration with local communities and governments.
- Develop programming documents for speaker engagement and management, program promotion, and others as needed.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- An undergraduate degree, college diploma, or certificate (or equivalent experience) in social sciences, public policy, or related field.
- Training in race relations, anti-racism, grant administration, community building, and engagement is a definite asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism, valuing diversity, and contributions to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- At least 3 years of working experience in a similar role, preferably in a grassroots community-based approach.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and other digital tools and applications.
The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) is a national, independent, and non-partisan organization that promotes equity, justice, and human rights by documenting and analyzing hate-bias motivated crime in Canada, promoting research and education, and fostering cross-cultural understanding and respect.
