Job Title: Senior Lead, Fabrication

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lead, Fabrication to join our Design and Fabrication Services Branch in Vancouver. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a small multi-disciplinary team in a machine/fabrication shop environment, providing technical advice to the fabrication team and their clients, and managing multiple fabrication projects with a focus on meeting commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a small multi-disciplinary team in a machine/fabrication shop environment
  • Provide technical advice to the fabrication team and their clients
  • Manage multiple fabrication projects with a focus on meeting commitments
  • Assist the Vancouver Fabrication Supervisor in developing and managing the daily operations of the shop
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards and practices in the workshop environment

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a 4-year apprentice program
  • Red seal machinist certification
  • Extensive experience as a working-level technician in one of the disciplines of tool-making or precision machining
  • Significant experience leading technical teams, including planning, estimating, scheduling, assigning, and monitoring work
  • Significant experience dealing with clients with multiple priorities and meeting strict deadlines
  • Significant experience managing projects
  • Significant experience working with CAD-CAM software

Working Conditions

The position requires a Secret (II) clearance, which must be obtained within 12 months of employment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with clients and managing multiple fabrication projects with a focus on meeting commitments.
