Job Summary:The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board is seeking a qualified teacher to fill a Long Term Occasional position in Primary/Intermediate FSL Prep and Primary/Junior Core English. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching students in these divisions and will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of educators.
Responsibilities:- Teach students in Primary/Intermediate FSL Prep and Primary/Junior Core English
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress
- Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching practices
- Basic qualifications to teach in the Primary, Junior and Intermediate Divisions
- French as a Second Language Part 1
- Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions
- Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
- Proficient fluency in French as a Second Language
- Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems
- Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
- Knowledge and experience in implementing balanced literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction
- Understanding and experience in implementing the CEFR approach into FSL instruction
- Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
- Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
- Commitment to being an active participant in the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement
- Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties
