Job Title: Primary Care Paramedic
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Primary Care Paramedic to join our team at the City of Thunder Bay. As a Primary Care Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing patient care and transportation services in accordance with the applicable legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to ambulance calls within a specified timeframe and report each movement of ambulance or emergency response unit immediately to Central Ambulance Communication Centres (CACC) as required by Superior North EMS policies and procedures.
- Assess environmental risks and respond to patient(s) and personal safety needs.
- Administer to and provide patient care in accordance with Basic Life Support Patient Care Standards (BLS PCS), Advanced Life Support Patient Care Standards (ALS PCS), and all other required Standards as set by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Emergency Health Services Branch.
- Provides documentation, including ambulance call reports and incident/collision reports as required and as per the Ontario Ambulance Documentation Standards.
- Conduct patient triage assessment and evaluation.
Requirements:
- Must meet the qualifications for primary care paramedic as stipulated in the regulations of the Ambulance Act, as amended.
- Must meet minimum standards and complete mandatory training specified by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Emergency Health Services Branch, and Superior North EMS
- One to two years' experience as a primary care paramedic
- Must have excellent interpersonal, customer service, and teamwork skills.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class "F" driver's licence or equivalent.
- Must have the ability to work safely and within the Occupational Health and Safety Act
