About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Maintenance Trainer to join our team at the Red Chris Mine in Northwest British Columbia. As a key member of our training department, you will be responsible for developing and delivering competency-based training programs for mobile maintenance and occasional support for fixed plant maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of hands-on maintenance experience with mobile equipment and some exposure to fixed plant systems. They will also possess proven experience in delivering technical training within mining or heavy industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver competency-based training programs, including Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments, ensuring alignment with operational and safety standards.
  • Facilitate equipment-specific and safety courses, ensuring certifications are current to meet compliance needs.
  • Maintain Train-the-Trainer certifications for safety and equipment programs, ensuring compliance with regular updates and operational relevance.
  • Collaborate with the Training Lead on apprenticeship program development, aligning with Red Seal standards and operational requirements.
  • Mentor apprentices with coaching, feedback, and development plans to support progress toward certification and long-term success.

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Trade Certification - Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (required).
  • Mine Supervisor Certification (or equivalent, required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe).
  • 10+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, primarily with mobile equipment, with some exposure to fixed plant systems.
  • Proven experience in delivering technical training within mining or heavy industrial environments.

What We Offer:

This role offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $120,000 per year, based on experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement savings matching program.
