About the Role

The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) is seeking a highly skilled Specialist, Initiatives to join its Housing Program Team. In this role, you will provide research, analysis, and guidance to respond to changing issues and trends in CMHC's operating environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify key issues and trends affecting CMHC's clients and operations.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the housing industry, including market trends, regulations, and government policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new policies, products, and services that meet client needs and align with CMHC's strategic objectives.
  • Provide expert analysis and recommendations to inform business decisions and ensure that CMHC's operations are aligned with its mission and values.
  • Stay up-to-date on sector issues and market trends, and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in housing finance, insurance, and/or product/program development within the multi-unit/residential space.
  • A solid understanding of the business context and development of government programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A thorough understanding of the housing industry and CMHC's role in it.
  • An understanding and awareness of social, economic, and political trends affecting the provision of housing.
  • Experience in managing projects (project management or change management).
  • Experience in the development and documentation of functional business systems requirements, including oversight in system enhancement projects, or changes to business systems.
