About the Role:

The CIS Ontario is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Academic Coach to join our team. As an Academic Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs to achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Student Success to create and implement personalized learning plans tailored to each student's unique needs and goals.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to students, focusing on developing executive functioning skills, personalized learning strategies, and tools that enhance academic performance and personal growth.
  • Engage with students in a way that leaves them feeling confident, motivated, and unstoppable in their academic pursuits.
  • Work closely with families, teachers, and staff across all divisions to ensure a holistic approach to each student's success.
  • Apply a deep understanding of special education and inclusive practices to support all CIS Ontario students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience in academic coaching, with a strong focus on executive functioning and learning strategies.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work with families, educators, and administrators.
  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) program is a significant asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for student success and a commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and empowering learning environment.
