Job Summary:

The Learning Specialist will work closely with the Director of Student Success to create and implement personalized success plans for students. This role requires a strong understanding of special education and inclusive practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan Development: Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement personalized success plans tailored to each student's unique needs and goals.
  • Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one coaching to students, focusing on developing executive functioning skills, personalized learning strategies, and tools that enhance academic performance and personal growth.
  • Student Empowerment: Engage with students in a way that leaves them feeling confident, motivated, and unstoppable in their academic pursuits.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with families, teachers, and staff across all divisions to ensure a holistic approach to each student's success.
  • Inclusive Practices: Apply a deep understanding of special education and inclusive practices to support all Elmwood students.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience in academic coaching, with a strong focus on executive functioning and learning strategies.
  • Skills: Proven ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning needs, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work with families, educators, and administrators.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
