Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Coach to join our team at CIS Ontario. As an Academic Coach, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Personalized Plans: Collaborate with the Director of Student Success to create and implement personalized plans tailored to each student's unique needs and goals.
  • Provide Individualized Support: Offer one-on-one coaching to students, focusing on developing executive functioning skills, personalized learning strategies, and tools that enhance academic performance and personal growth.
  • Empower Students: Engage with students in a way that leaves them feeling confident, motivated, and unstoppable in their academic pursuits.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with families, teachers, and staff across all divisions to ensure a holistic approach to each student's success. Facilitate regular communication and meetings to align on student progress and needs.
  • Inclusive Practices: Apply a deep understanding of special education and inclusive practices to support all Elmwood students.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience in academic coaching, with a strong focus on executive functioning and learning strategies.
  • Skills: Proven ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning needs. Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work with families, educators, and administrators.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for Student Success: A passion for student success and a commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and empowering learning environment.
