Salary: $41.42 - $55.91 per hour

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator to join our multidisciplinary adult care team at the University Hospital of Northern BC. As a Registered Nurse with post-graduate psychiatric nursing course experience, you will provide compassionate patient care to adults suffering from various psychiatric illnesses and mental disorders.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for assessing patients' needs, developing individualized care plans, and implementing treatment services using appropriate forms of individual and group therapies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing assessment and treatment services for adults with psychiatric illnesses and mental disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN registrant.
Skills:
  • Ability to use good judgment and organization skills in providing patient care.
  • Knowledge and utilization of the DSM IV in establishing provisional diagnosis.
  • Ability to interpret the Mental Health Act as it relates to patient care and patient rights.
Experience:
  • Post-graduate psychiatric nursing course for RN's, Canadian Nurses Association certification program in psychiatry, or equivalent combination of training or experience.
