About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team in Clinical Pharmacy Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective drug therapy by participating in and overseeing drug distribution systems, supervising pharmacy support staff, and identifying and resolving drug-related problems.

The successful candidate will provide clinical pharmacy services, including drug regimen review, medication reconciliation, pharmacokinetic monitoring, individual and group patient medication teaching, drug information, and educational programs. You will work closely with the medical team to provide discharge medication calendars and counseling to patients, and make therapeutic recommendations to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong background in pharmacy practice. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or an entry-level Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy from a CCAPP-accredited university, and be licensed to practice pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia.

Preferred qualifications include a minimum of two years of experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting, completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program, and strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics. The successful candidate will also possess effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs.

Hours and Compensation

This is a long-assignment position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule, approximately 1 year in duration. The hourly rate is $43.67 - $53.24, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
