We serve over 7,000 culturally diverse students across 18 schools on the Saanich Peninsula, just north of Victoria, BC. Our district has a strong commitment to providing quality educational programs and a safe and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver language programs for Indigenous students, focusing on SENĆOTEN language development and fluency.
  • Collaborate with school teams to promote Indigenous cultural awareness and community connections.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with Indigenous communities to raise cultural awareness in schools.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A Valid BC Teaching Certificate or First Nations Language Teaching Certificate.
  • Demonstrated language proficiency in SENĆOTEN.
  • Language teacher training is an asset.
  • Knowledge of local Saanich Indigenous communities.
  • Significant leadership experience in developing and enhancing Indigenous communities and cultural awareness.
