About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Manager to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a key member of our Atlantic Property team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our claims management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and communicate a clear vision for the team to support the achievement of Atlantic Property objectives.
- Lead and motivate a large team of employees, including Unit Claims Managers and Consultants, to deliver exceptional results.
- Oversee the recruitment and development of employees to ensure the team has the necessary skills and expertise to succeed.
- Establish and refine best practice workflows to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Prepare and follow up on operational budgets to ensure expense ceilings are set in line with targets.
- Develop and implement strategies and tactics to achieve our overall Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets.
- Enforce Workforce Plan/Schedule to maintain set service levels and productivity benchmarks.
- Ensure adjusters maintain quality work standards by managing results, both on a quantitative and qualitative level, and create action plans as required.
- Make decisions concerning loss reserves and claims payments in line with standards.
- Participate actively in strategic projects and present to senior executives.
Requirements
- University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role.
- 5+ years management experience.
- 7-10 years of claims experience and/or related industry experience preferred.
- Claims adjuster license is required.
- Proven leadership skills and excellent communication skills.
- CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of property insurance and policy applications.
- Bilingual English and French is considered an asset.
