About the role
We're looking for a Unit Claims Manager, Subrogation Multiline to join our growing team
What you'll do here:
- Effectively manage primarily property and some automobile subrogation claims handled by our Subrogation Team and act in a consultative and advisory capacity on claims matters and technical issues such as investigation, liability assessment, settlement negotiation, and recovery reserve establishment for claims
- Use your analytical acumen and decision-making skills by developing structured action plans for all investigators and adjusters
- Provide leadership and manage the operations of the unit to achieve key business goals
- Facilitate continuous learning and development of employees
- Work very closely with the other Unit Claims Manager and employees in the Subrogation Team, so that these teams work together as one
- Maintain effective communication channels with other departments
- Establish and maintain productive business relationships with other units, including claims and distribution
- Monitor individual claim cases as necessary
- Audit claim files and provide feedback as determined by this process
- Create relevant training material for all business units and attend training sessions
- Participate on national committees and projects
- Promote the brand image and business principles to partners
- Conduct active file hearings throughout the year
What you bring to the table:
- University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
- Experience in claims handling, claims examining or a strong background of working within legal workflows and processes
- At least 2 years of team management experience
- Strong knowledge of personal and commercial lines and liability insurance
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge
- Cares about people
- A sense of urgency in your work while multitasking, prioritizing tasks, and effortlessly shifting priorities.
- The independent ability to manage remote employees and drive business results.
- Strong communication and comprehension skills when delivering information to customers, employees, other managers, and peers
