Job Title: Infrastructure Engineering Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineering Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance on the design, implementation, and maintenance of our enterprise infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot operational infrastructure issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Provide input on Wintel infrastructure assignments and projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain Wintel incident management ticket queues, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the backup environment, managing jobs and schedules to ensure successful completion and quarterly restore tests.
  • Support the design, analysis, development, and implementation of Wintel infrastructure solutions for business projects and work requests.
  • Ensure operational documentation is up-to-date and accurate, facilitating knowledge sharing and onboarding.
  • Automate repeatable operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Provide on-call support on a rotational basis, ensuring 24/7 availability and responsiveness.
  • Develop and maintain strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Additional Tasks:
  • Participate in risk assessments, capacity planning, and budget forecasting for infrastructure projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Exercise creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering infrastructure initiatives.
  • Advise functional leaders on infrastructure-related matters, leveraging expertise and experience.
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience in a Windows-based virtualized operating environment.
  • Experience with mainstream Windows virtualization technologies.
  • Customer-oriented approach, recognizing the service-oriented approach required by technical support.
  • Microsoft-based certification required; cloud-based certification preferred.
  • Schedule flexibility required to occasionally work outside of normal business hours to support production issues or project implementations.
Nice-to-Have:
  • English/French bilingual.
  • Experience with storage networks and storage systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft platform-as-a-service technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Virtual/Remote desktop infrastructure.
  • Certification or experience with Microsoft SQL databases and scripting.
