Infrastructure Engineering Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineering Specialist to join our team at The Cigna Group. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of enterprise infrastructure, technical support, and troubleshooting in a hybrid environment, with an excellent sense of customer service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve operational infrastructure issues.
  • Provide input on Wintel infrastructure assignments and/or projects.
  • Maintain Wintel incident management ticket queues.
  • Oversee the backup environment, managing jobs and schedules, ensuring successful completion and ability to perform quarterly restore tests.
  • Support the design, analysis, development, and implementation of Wintel infrastructure solutions for business projects and/or work requests.
  • Ensure operational documentation is maintained and up to date.
  • Automate repeatable operational tasks.
  • Provide on-call support on a rotational basis.
  • Strong command of English, both written and verbal.

Additional Tasks:

  • Risk assessments, partnering on capacity planning, input on developing budget forecasts for certain projects.
  • May serve as the primary point of contact for vendors.
  • Exercises creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives.
  • Uses knowledge and experience to advise functional leaders.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years in a Windows-based virtualized operating environment.
  • Experience with mainstream Windows virtualization technologies.
  • Customer-oriented approach, recognizing the service-oriented approach required by technical support.
  • Microsoft-based certification required; cloud-based certification preferred.
  • Schedule flexibility required to occasionally work outside of normal business hours to support production issues or to support project implementations, not to exceed the regular work week hours (no overtime).

Nice-to-Have:

  • English/French bilingual.
  • Experience with storage networks and storage systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft platform-as-a-service technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Virtual/Remote desktop infrastructure.
  • Certification or experience with Microsoft SQL databases and scripting.
