Job Title: Research Associate I

Location: Toronto, ON

The University Health Network (UHN) is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate I to join our team at the Princess Margaret Genomics Centre.

Job Summary:

As a Research Associate I, you will be responsible for coordinating research projects, managing budgets, and ensuring milestones are met within grant-funded activities. You will work under the direction of the Principal Investigators of the grant funding this position and assume responsibility for activities within the PMGC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating collaboration and service agreements
  • Completing scientific progress reports
  • Managing budgets
  • Ensuring milestones are met within grant-funded activities
  • Communicating with the community at large via social media
  • Wet-lab work may be involved for a suitable candidate

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in cancer genetics, molecular biology, genetic counselling or related field
  • At least 2 years of related research-oriented research experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Formal training or certification in project management (PMP) is an asset
  • Experience developing science communications and marketing materials, including for social media, is an asset
  • Ability to set priorities and work independently with accuracy in a multitasking environment
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office software, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Google Docs and Sheets
  • Experience with online tools, including project management software (Asana) and Google documents
