About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our Institutional Equities division. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the ideation, research, and publication of market-moving research reports.

Responsibilities

  1. Source, analyze, and generate insights from company and industry data to develop innovative research.
  2. Leverage industry knowledge and analyses to forecast earnings in complex financial models.
  3. Develop valuation tools by staying current with market developments.

Requirements

  1. Excellent financial analysis and spreadsheet skills.
  2. Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  3. Superior business writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills to communicate ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  4. Demonstrated interest in capital markets and the ability to apply finance theory. Candidates with capital markets experience are preferred.
  5. Manage time to work independently under strict deadlines, with high attention to detail. Hours can sometimes be long and unpredictable.
  6. Strong work ethic and initiative.

Education and Experience

  1. Preference for finance and business qualifications – must be comfortable working with financial statements.
  2. An engineering or computer science degree and/or experience in the technology industry are strong assets.
  3. Designations, such as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or CA/CPA, are an asset.
