Position Type: Casual, Days (Mon – Fri)

Duties Include:

  • Teaching and role modeling essential life skills for independent living, including budgeting, household management, meal planning, and self-care.
  • Assisting with achieving educational and/or employment goals, obtaining housing and housing supports, and developing safety plans.
  • Offering opportunities for engaging and practical learning experiences aligned with the individual's case plan.
  • Ongoing assessment and development of life skills.
  • Cultivating positive connections and rapport with youth and young adults, aiding in the recognition of their strengths to foster personal development and self-esteem.
  • Producing thorough and accurate documentation, including case notes and reports.
  • Participating in monthly group programming.
  • Supporting family and cultural/spiritual connections.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Gr.12, Diploma/degree in Community Support Worker, Child and Youth Care, Addictions and Community Service, or relevant post-secondary education.
  • Respectful of cultural diversity.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous History, culture, practices, customs, and beliefs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and supportive counselling skills.
  • Experience working with at-risk and/or vulnerable youth and young adults.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid class 5 Manitoba Driver's license and daily use of a reliable vehicle.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
