About DASCH:

DASCH is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing residential, day program, respite, and foster care services to youth and adults. Our programs are based in Winnipeg, and we have over 50 homes in our residential program. Our day services program consists of two day programs, and our educational program, DASCHWorks, supports people in finding and maintaining meaningful employment.

Position Summary:

We are seeking Support Workers to work weekend shifts in various locations in Winnipeg. As a Support Worker, you will provide care and support to individuals in their homes and out in the community. You will work under the supervision of a Location Supervisor and be responsible for providing quality care, maintaining a safe and clean home environment, and accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide physical, emotional, and social support to individuals in a respectful and caring manner.
  • Recognize and promote independence and encourage decision-making through recognition and respect of the interests and choices of the individuals we support.
  • Transport individuals to and from activities and home in a safe and careful manner.
  • Contribute to a warm and comfortable home environment for the individuals we support.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation in a well-written and legible manner.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Location Supervisor, co-workers, and the individuals we support.

Requirements:

  • Canadian Grade 10 Education or equivalent.
  • Full or Intermediate Class 5 Manitoba Driver's License.
  • Smart device with internet access for communication.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated skills and ability to work in a team environment.
