Brandt is seeking a skilled Resident Heavy Equipment Technician to join their team in a field-based environment.

This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry-based equipment and attachments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy-duty equipment, diagnose issues, and perform repairs efficiently.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Utilize related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
  • Accurately document work orders, including machine information, actions taken, and time spent.
  • Continuously assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate and order parts from parts personnel using parts catalogues.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Required Skills:

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, and prolonged standing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Required Experience:

  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade is preferred.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, and prolonged standing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
