Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist

Brandt is seeking a skilled Resident Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in the Slave Lake and surrounding area, reporting to our Edmonton Construction & Forestry branch. This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluate the working condition of heavy duty equipment, diagnose issues, assemble/disassemble, order parts, and perform repairs efficiently and effectively.
- Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Utilize related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
- Accurately document work orders with machine information, actions taken, and time spent.
- Continuously assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
- Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
- Locate parts using catalogues and order them from parts personnel.
- Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
- Meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Experience
- Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred.
- Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade is preferred.
- Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
- Meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
