Job Title: Resident Heavy Equipment Technician

Brandt is currently seeking a skilled Resident Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Meadow Lake or North Battleford, reporting to the Saskatoon Construction & Forestry branch.

Job Summary:

This is a field-based position responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry-based equipment and attachments. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the working condition of equipment, diagnosing issues, assembling and disassembling parts, ordering necessary components, and performing repairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy equipment and diagnose issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment parts, order necessary components, and perform repairs.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
  • Accurately document work orders, including machine information, actions taken, and time spent.
  • Continuously assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate and order parts from parts personnel using parts catalogues.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
