Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant Intern to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for managing risk by performing thorough risk assessments for each estimate. Your primary focus will be on read and interpreting documents, contracts, and supplementary conditions to create strategies and recommendations to mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate and clarify work with subtrades to reduce the risk of scope gap/overlap.
- Attend meetings and site visits to determine the level of difficulty and approach of the project.
- Manage relationships and clear communication with various stakeholders such as Owner's/client's, architects, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, Acadian team members, and management team.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of financial estimation principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong computer skills and experience working with MS Office suite including MS Project.
- Possession of Gold Seal Certification in Estimating is considered an asset.
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to your base salary, you can expect a range of benefits, including a pension plan, which will contribute to your long-term financial security.
