Job Title: Production Supervisor

At GATX, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at the Moose Jaw Service Center. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading and directing the railcar production process, ensuring that our customers receive high-quality products on time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage work center(s) to ensure efficient and cost-effective production
  • Plan, organize, and schedule process repairs to railcars
  • Mentor employees to ensure safe and high-quality work practices
  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage performance of production team members
  • Perform audits to ensure high-quality repairs
  • Accountable for production metrics and quality standards
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a fast-paced production environment, preferably in railcar repair
  • Knowledge of welding procedures and railcar materials
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to lead a versatile team and communicate effectively
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and other production software

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, and lift up to 85 pounds
  • Ability to perform overhead work and work at elevated heights
  • Ability to work in extreme temperature environments
