Production Supervisor

At GATX, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at the Moose Jaw Service Center. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading and directing the railcar production process, ensuring that our customers receive high-quality products on time.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage work center(s) to optimize production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Plan, organize, and schedule process repairs to railcars, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Mentor and train employees to ensure they perform their daily tasks safely and effectively, adhering to GATX Health and Safety rules and procedures.
- Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and manage the performance of a team of skilled labor employees.
- Perform audits to ensure high-quality repairs and maintain accurate records.
- Accountable for production metrics and ensure that all necessary administrative work is complete and accurate.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a fast-paced production environment, preferably in railcar repair or a related field.
- Knowledge of welding procedures and railcar materials.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to lead a versatile team and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.

- Must be able to stoop for extended periods and routinely move from kneeling to standing positions.
- Must be able to perform overhead work for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift (vertically) up to 85 pounds from the ground surface.
- Must be able to push/pull (horizontally) up to 140 pounds.
- Must be able to climb ladders and perform work at elevated heights.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperature environments.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate; hearing protection must be worn.
- Must be able to enter confined spaces physically (rail car manways as small as 18" in diameter) and work in enclosed environments.
- Must be able to sit/work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
