About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Jackman Drywall Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall in commercial and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to create a durable and attractive surface.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces to ensure a strong bond between drywall and other materials.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and prevent damage.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to create a stable structure.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to prevent damage and ensure a smooth finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a strong bond.
Work Environment

As a Drywall Installation Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and heavy workloads. You will be required to work at heights, in cold and refrigerated environments, and in dangerous and dusty conditions.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
  • Ability to work at heights, in cold and refrigerated environments, and in dangerous and dusty conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
