About the Role:

The Area Revenue Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing revenue strategies across our five hotels, including Fairmont Waterfront, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Fairmont Pacific Rim, Fairmont Empress, and Fairmont Vancouver Airport.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Align revenue management strategies across the five hotels to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Develop and implement long-term plans with the Director of Sales and Marketing (DOSM) and revenue management team, including selling strategies and rate parameters.
  • Chair weekly revenue management meetings to optimize profitability decisions and manage wash.
  • Play an active role in strategic planning, marketing planning, and budgeting processes.
  • Assist in the mentorship and training of revenue management analysts.
  • Optimize hotel and corporate pricing strategies through management of pricing levels, stay restrictions, and other tactics.
  • Provide direction and support for leisure and business travel sales managers to determine effective and engaging rate offers.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure the best exposure for various offers.
  • Ensure combined inventory and pricing strategies are rational among cluster properties and in relation to the competition.
  • Work with the Pacific Northwest revenue management team to define optimal mix of business based on demand patterns.
  • Track and analyze competitive set pricing and yield strategies, gaining the ability to predict the comp set reaction to changes in the marketplace.
  • Coordinate with brand distribution teams to ensure efficient delivery of reservations to the central reservation system.
  • Complete special projects to creatively find new ways to generate revenues, including restaurant revenue management and spa revenue management.
  • Liaise with reservations, front office, events, and sales teams to ensure the highest level of guest service while maximizing profit.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of analytical reports.
  • Stay current with industry changes and their impact on demand, including customer industries.
  • Participate in departmental and self-guided training and development.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required.
Requirements:
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to move strategy into action.
  • Comfortable in discussion forums, able to present ideas succinctly and convincingly.
  • Proven experience in analysis and problem-solving required.
  • Team building skills and a proven track record are essential.
  • Self-study and independent work ethics are required.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints.
  • Strong experience or adaptable training in the use of automated systems, PCs, and office products, including Excel, Word.
  • Knowledge of Fairmont Sales & Property Management automation, including Property Manager, CRS, OXI Interfaces, Passkey, Opera products, and IDeaS revenue management system.
  • Previous experience in revenue management is an asset. Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Sales Manager, Front Office Manager, or Reservations Manager, or 2 years' experience in a related area.
  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred.
