Area Revenue Manager, Fairmont Pacific Northwest Hotels

About the Role
The Area Revenue Manager will play a key role in maximizing revenue and profitability for Fairmont Waterfront, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Fairmont Pacific Rim, Fairmont Empress, and Fairmont Vancouver Airport. This position will be responsible for aligning strategies across the five hotels to win business for the brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the revenue management team to develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Support the development of long-term plans with the Director of Sales and Marketing and the revenue management team.
- Chair property weekly RevMax and group meetings to ensure profitability decisions are made and wash is managed.
- Play an active role in the strategic planning, marketing planning, and budgeting process.
- Assist in the mentorship and training of revenue management analysts.
- Optimize hotel and corporate pricing strategies through the management of pricing levels, stay restrictions, and other tactics.
- Provide direction and support for leisure and business travel sales managers to determine effective and engaging rate offers.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure the best exposure for various offers.
- Ensure combined inventory and pricing strategies are rational among cluster properties and in relation to the competition.
- Work with the Pacific Northwest revenue management team to define the optimal mix of business based on demand patterns.
- Track and analyze competitive set pricing and yield strategies to predict the competition's reaction to changes in the marketplace.
- Continuously analyze changing channel distribution models and their impact on consumer booking trends.
- Coordinate with the brand distribution team to ensure efficient delivery of reservations to the central reservation system.
- Complete special projects to find new ways to generate revenue, including restaurant revenue management and spa revenue management.
- Liaise with reservations, front office, events, and sales teams to ensure the highest level of guest service is maintained while maximizing profit.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of analytical reports.
- Stay current with industry changes and their impact on demand, including customer industries.
- Participate in departmental and self-guided training and development.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required.
Requirements
- Strategic thinking and the ability to move strategy into action are essential attributes.
- Comfortable in discussion forums and able to present ideas succinctly and convincingly.
- Proven experience in analysis and problem-solving is required.
- Team building skills and a proven track record are essential.
- Self-study and independent work ethics are required.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints is key to success.
- Strong experience or adaptable training in the use of automated systems, PCs, and office products, including Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of Fairmont Sales & Property Management automation, including Property Manager, CRS, OXI Interfaces, Passkey, Opera products, and IDeaS revenue management system.
- Previous experience in revenue management is an asset. A minimum of two years of experience as a sales manager, front office manager, or reservations manager, or two years of experience in a related area, is required.
- University or college degree in a related discipline is preferred.
