Magna Exteriors, a leading provider of innovative vehicle exteriors solutions, seeks a skilled Press Set-Up Operator to join their team in Vaughan. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about precision, quality, and teamwork.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced press set-up operator to oversee the setup and operation of presses in our production facility. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate presses for both manual and progressive dies, ensuring high-quality output and minimal downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections of presses and tooling to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of safety procedures and protocols, including WHMIS/GHS and 5S standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, toolroom, and other departments to resolve equipment-related issues and optimize production efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with area leaders, technicians, and colleagues to ensure smooth operations and address any concerns or questions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a post-secondary education in a technical field preferred.
  • Valid Forklift license and training certificate for operating cranes (10-40 tons).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Experience with press controls, tooling protection, and other equipment relevant to press operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Automotive manufacturing experience, with knowledge of roll feeders and die protection.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality management standards and ISO 14001.
  • Strong mathematical skills and basic computer proficiency.
Salary Range

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
